We thought about continuing traversing the ridge towards the south end of Dicks Lake, but we saw a faint trail down the face of the mountain and decided to go for it. Starting at 6,909 ft, the trail heads up the side of the mountain immediately. There are great views at the top of Dicks Pass. The two lakes are separated by only about a third of a mile.
